The first Wednesday of every month is officially http://rabisingoznuru.com/ruyada-antoloji-gormek/ Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer – aim for a dozen new people each time – and return comments. This group is all about connecting!
This months question: What are your pet peeves when reading/writing/editing?
To answer this, I think I’m going to split it up into three different sections. My pet peeves are very different, depending on whether I’m reading, writing, or editing. Pet peeves in general are very different, depending on who it is that’s doing the writing, what it is I’m editing, and where I am when I’m reading.
My general pet peeves when I’m reading are:
- When I can’t get comfy
- When the author misspells something
- When something the author says contradicts something I know
- When there’s a plothole
- When the book focuses on a character I hate
Pet Peeves for when I’m writing:
- When a sentence feels wrong but looks right
- When a scene won’t close itself
- Writing love scenes
Pet Peeves for editing:
- Adding description
- Editing specific POVs
I don’t have as many POVs for Editing, but that’s only because I’m only JUST experiencing the hell that is editing. So please, don’t think I don’t have any others. I just haven’t discovered them yet.more
